The Orchards Day Nursery Pre-School was inspected on 15 September 2021 under the legacy EYFS framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management). All areas were graded 'Good' with Safeguarding rated 'Effective'. This analysis maps the legacy framework to the November 2025 seven-area structure: Quality of Education maps to Curriculum & Teaching and Achievement; Behaviour & Attitudes maps to Behaviour, Attitudes and Establishing Routines; Personal Development maps to Inclusion and Children's Welfare and Well-being; Leadership & Management maps to Leadership and Governance. The setting demonstrates strong foundations with effective safeguarding, good staff knowledge, positive parent engagement, and child-centred practice. Two specific improvement areas were identified by inspectors: strengthening assessment procedures for newer staff, and ensuring consistent parent communication about children's learning.
