Springhead - Oldham

Kids Planet Springhead was inspected on 16 September 2022 under the legacy four-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management), with all areas graded Good and overall effectiveness rated Good. This represents a decline from the previous Outstanding rating (February 2016). The report has been mapped to the November 2025 seven-area framework for analysis. Key strengths include exceptional community and world learning, strong SEND support, excellent outdoor provision, and robust safeguarding. The two explicit improvement areas identified by the inspector are curriculum pitch (activities not appropriately levelled for some children) and hygiene practices (inconsistent hand-washing teaching and staff practices). The nursery demonstrates strong leadership, positive staff well-being, and good partnership working with families.
