Pippa Pop-ins received a Good overall effectiveness rating on 6 March 2025, representing a decline from Outstanding at the previous inspection (22 January 2024). The setting demonstrates strong foundations with secure relationships, ambitious curriculum design, and outstanding personal development outcomes. However, the inspection identified a critical gap: staff do not consistently recognise or respond to children who are less engaged or waiting longer to join activities, meaning not all children benefit from high-quality teaching experiences. This finding directly prompted the inspector's recommendation to 'focus more precisely on increasing staff's teaching skills so that all children's learning is consistently extended.' The report was conducted under the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management); findings have been mapped to the November 2025 7-area structure: Safeguarding (Met), Inclusion (Expected Standard - gaps in recognising disengaged learners), Curriculum and Teaching (Good/Expected Standard - ambitious but inconsistently delivered), Achievement (Good/Expected Standard - good progress but not universal), Behaviour/Attitudes/Routines (Good/Expected Standard), Welfare/Well-being (Strong Standard - nurturing environment, emotional support), and Leadership/Governance (Good/Expected Standard - effective self-evaluation but teaching quality oversight needs strengthening).
