Banana Moon Day Nursery was inspected on 5 December 2022 under the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management), all graded Good. This analysis maps findings to the November 2025 7-area framework. The nursery demonstrates strong safeguarding, good partnerships with parents, and effective progress tracking. Children develop well physically, emotionally and in communication. However, the inspector identified a key weakness: staff do not consistently maintain high expectations for pre-school children, the curriculum is sometimes too narrow, and spontaneous learning opportunities—particularly in the extensive outdoor area—are not always maximized. This results in inconsistent engagement in effective learning for some children. The provider and management team are well-qualified and supportive, with robust recruitment and continuous professional development systems in place.
