Top of the Class Nursery was inspected on 12 July 2023 under the legacy four-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management), with all areas graded Good and Safeguarding effective. This analysis maps those findings to the November 2025 seven-area framework. The nursery demonstrates strong foundations: warm relationships, effective safeguarding, good curriculum delivery, and positive parental engagement. Two specific areas for improvement were identified by the inspector: inconsistent engagement of quiet and less confident children during group activities, and variable approaches to promoting children's self-care and independence skills. The setting maintains consistent Good performance across all areas with no critical safeguarding concerns. Mapping to the new framework places the nursery at Expected Standard (60-79) across most areas, with Leadership and Governance as a relative strength at Strong Standard (80-94).
