Hollins Wood Childcare

Hollins Wood Childcare was inspected on 4 May 2023 under the legacy EYFS framework (4 areas: Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management). All four areas were graded 'Good', with an overall effectiveness rating of 'Good'. This report has been mapped to the November 2025 framework (7 evaluation areas). The setting demonstrates strong leadership, ambitious curriculum planning, and effective safeguarding arrangements. Children thrive in well-organised, home-from-home environments with embedded routines. Two specific areas for improvement were identified: (1) snack time hygiene practices need strengthening to reduce cross-infection risk, and (2) younger children require more thinking time when responding to staff questions to maximise language and thinking skill development. The setting maintains consistent 'Good' performance across all areas with particular strengths in leadership vision, SEND support, and parent partnership.
