Fennies Kings Hall was inspected on 25 November 2022 under the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management), all graded Good. This analysis maps findings to the November 2025 7-area framework. The setting has experienced staffing challenges since the previous Outstanding inspection (January 2018), resulting in a downgrade to Good overall. Safeguarding remains effective. Key strengths include warm staff relationships, varied curriculum, and good progress in learning. Two critical areas require investment: (1) key-person arrangements during transitions, particularly for toddlers who become upset before lunch, impacting emotional security; (2) story time pedagogy to maximise communication and language development. The setting operates 77 places with 22 staff, 13 of whom hold EY qualifications levels 2-3. Leadership is actively reviewing practice with support from quality development teams.
