The Peterborough School - PE3 6AP

This report uses the legacy pre-November 2025 framework (Care Standards, Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance). Findings have been mapped to the new 7-area November 2025 structure. Peterborough High School Nursery was rated 'Good' overall for both care and nursery education. The setting demonstrates strong safeguarding practices, effective teaching and learning aligned to Foundation Stage, and good behaviour management. Key strengths include warm staff relationships, stimulating learning environment, good health and hygiene practices, and effective parent partnerships. Two specific areas for improvement were identified: meal time organisation (independence and social skills) and temperature control in first-floor rooms. The nursery has 13 staff with 7 holding NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications, serving 74 children (39 funded for nursery education). This analysis translates the legacy 'Good' ratings across care and education into the new framework's seven evaluation areas, with particular focus on the two explicit improvement recommendations.
