Kids Planet Nook Barn

Kids Planet Nook Barn is a newly registered (2024) full day care nursery serving 0-3 year olds, rated Good across all areas. The inspection used the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management), all graded Good. These have been mapped to the November 2025 7-area framework as follows: Quality of Education maps to Curriculum and Teaching (Good, 75); Behaviour & Attitudes maps to Behaviour, Attitudes and Establishing Routines (Good, 75); Personal Development maps to Achievement (Good, 75) and Welfare & Well-being (Good, 75); Leadership & Management maps to Leadership and Governance (Good, 75). Safeguarding is Met (100). Two new areas—Inclusion and Children's Welfare and Well-being—are assessed as Expected Standard (70) based on the inspector's findings on SEND support and general well-being. The nursery demonstrates strong communication focus, effective behaviour guidance, good curriculum breadth including natural world exploration, and well-supported staff. Two key improvement areas identified by the inspector are: (1) inconsistent parent communication about child development and next steps, limiting home-school continuity, and (2) occasional staff gaps in recognising and responding to children's emerging needs during play. These represent the primary investment priorities.
