Ashbourne Day Nursery at Greetland was inspected on 7 May 2026 and judged to be meeting Expected Standard overall, with Safeguarding standards Met. The setting demonstrates a warm, welcoming environment where children thrive and develop secure attachments with staff. Across the seven evaluation areas of the November 2025 Framework, the nursery achieves Expected Standard in all areas (Inclusion, Curriculum and Teaching, Achievement, Behaviour/Attitudes/Routines, Welfare/Well-being, and Leadership/Governance), with Safeguarding Met. The report notes particular strengths in inclusive practice, SEND support, curriculum design, and child wellbeing. Two key areas for development have been identified: (1) staff consistency in explaining the 'why' behind rules and boundaries to deepen children's understanding of how their actions affect others, and (2) leaders' monitoring and implementation of professional development to support staff workload and embed new learning.
