Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Little Lever is a newly registered provision (2024) achieving a Good overall effectiveness rating across all four legacy framework areas. The inspection used the pre-November 2025 framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management), which has been mapped to the new 7-area structure. Strengths include warm, responsive care supporting emotional development; a well-planned curriculum with strong language focus; and effective safeguarding arrangements. The single area for improvement centres on professional development: staff lack detailed knowledge about how young children learn as different types of learners, limiting their ability to fully extend children's knowledge and understanding through tailored strategies. This maps primarily to the Curriculum and Teaching evaluation area under the new framework.
