Riverside Nursery Schools - Richmond is a newly registered setting (January 2024) that has achieved a Good overall effectiveness rating across all four legacy framework areas. The inspection was the first routine inspection since COVID-19, and the provider has demonstrated effective self-evaluation and appropriate responses to previous breaches. Under the November 2025 framework, this translates to: Safeguarding Met (100), Inclusion Expected Standard (72), Curriculum and Teaching Expected Standard (70), Achievement Expected Standard (72), Behaviour/Attitudes/Routines Expected Standard (73), Welfare/Well-being Expected Standard (74), and Leadership/Governance Expected Standard (71). The legacy 'Good' grades (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management) have been mapped to the new seven-area structure. Two clear improvement areas have been identified by the inspector: enhancing outdoor provision for children who learn best outdoors, and increasing opportunities for children to learn about technology and how things work.
