The Clock House Nursery School - Main Location

The Clock House Nursery School is a newly established provision (opened November 2023) that has achieved a Good overall effectiveness rating across all four legacy framework areas. The inspection used the pre-November 2025 framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management), all graded Good. These have been mapped to the seven-area November 2025 framework as follows: Quality of Education maps to Curriculum and Teaching (Good, 75); Behaviour & Attitudes maps to Behaviour, Attitudes and Establishing Routines (Good, 75); Personal Development maps to Achievement (Good, 75) and Welfare and Well-being (Good, 75); Leadership & Management maps to Leadership and Governance (Good, 75). Safeguarding is Met (100). Inclusion and the broader Achievement area are inferred as Good based on the report's emphasis on progress for all children including SEND and EAL learners. The nursery demonstrates strong parental partnerships, warm staff culture, and good physical development opportunities. Two specific areas for improvement have been identified by the inspector: (1) planning and organisation of adult-led group activities to engage all children more effectively, and (2) enhancing staff understanding of how to support children's independence and self-help skills during mealtimes and routines. These represent opportunities to move from Good to Strong Standard across Curriculum and Teaching, Achievement, and Behaviour/Attitudes areas.
