Kids Planet Leigh was inspected on 14 March 2024 under the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management), all graded Good. The setting has improved significantly from 'Requires Improvement' at the previous inspection (March 2023). This analysis maps the legacy framework to the November 2025 7-area structure: Safeguarding is Met (effective arrangements noted); Inclusion is Strong Standard (highly effective SEND support, picture cards, sign language, external professional involvement); Curriculum and Teaching is Expected Standard (good physical development prioritisation, but inconsistent implementation of leaders' intent regarding language development and independence); Achievement is Good/Expected Standard (children making good progress, physical skills developing very well); Behaviour, Attitudes and Establishing Routines is Strong Standard (clear boundaries, very good behaviour, positive attitudes); Welfare and Well-being is Strong Standard (children happy, settle swiftly, warm staff relationships); Leadership and Governance is Expected Standard (detailed professional development, but minor inconsistencies in staff practice implementation). The two key improvement areas identified by inspectors are: (1) consistent implementation of curriculum intent, particularly around language development (dummy use) and promoting independence, and (2) closer monitoring of curriculum implementation to ensure precise knowledge delivery. The nursery has strong foundations with effective safeguarding, good parent partnerships, and skilled physical development teaching, but needs to tighten consistency in how staff translate leaders' vision into daily practice.
