Purple Lion Day Nurseries - Wapping - Main Location

Purple Lion Day Nursery Wapping received a Good rating across all areas in its first inspection (February 2025). The nursery demonstrates strong safeguarding, inclusive practice, and good curriculum delivery with particular strengths in communication and language support, independence skills development, and staff well-being. The inspection used the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management), which has been mapped to the November 2025 7-area structure: Safeguarding (Met), Inclusion (Good/70), Curriculum and Teaching (Good/70), Achievement (Good/70), Behaviour/Attitudes/Routines (Good/70), Welfare/Well-being (Good/72), and Leadership/Governance (Good/72). Two key improvement areas were identified: (1) extending opportunities for children to think critically and test their own ideas, and (2) deepening children's understanding of rules and boundaries to support independent regulation. The nursery's caring culture, strong parent partnerships, and dedicated leadership provide a solid foundation for targeted improvements to move toward Strong Standard.
