Gilwell Hill Children's Day Nursery and Pre-School was inspected on 28 May 2025 under the legacy four-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management), all graded as Good. This analysis maps these findings to the November 2025 seven-area framework. The nursery demonstrates strong practice across most areas, with particular excellence in physical development, communication and language, mathematical learning, and safeguarding. Staff supervision and professional development systems are well embedded, and partnerships with parents are highly valued. The primary area for improvement identified by the inspector concerns the organisation of mealtimes for toddlers, which are less well structured than those for older children and do not consistently provide the same social learning experiences. This represents an opportunity to elevate Behaviour, Attitudes and Establishing Routines from Expected Standard to Strong Standard. Overall, the setting provides a nurturing, ambitious curriculum with high levels of child engagement and confidence.
