Ashby Day Nursery was inspected on 10 January 2023 under the legacy four-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management) and achieved an overall rating of Good. This analysis maps those findings to the November 2025 seven-area framework. The nursery demonstrates significant strengths in behaviour management (Outstanding grade mapped to Strong Standard/Exceptional in the new framework), curriculum sequencing, staff training, and parent partnerships. The primary area for improvement identified by the inspector concerns mathematical skill development during spontaneous play opportunities with older children. Safeguarding arrangements are effective and meet statutory requirements. The setting is well-led with a knowledgeable manager who implements action plans for continuous improvement.
