Edgbaston Nursery School

Edgbaston Nursery and Pre School was inspected on 20 December 2022 under the legacy four-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management), with all areas graded as Good. This analysis maps those findings to the November 2025 seven-area framework. The setting demonstrates strong foundations in safeguarding, inclusion, and leadership, with particular strengths in parent partnerships, staff well-being support, and curriculum breadth. Two specific areas require targeted improvement: the clarity of learning intentions during adult-led group activities, and the differentiation and inclusion of quieter, less confident children in group sessions. The inspector noted that while staff plan interesting activities and know children well, they do not always focus clearly on identified learning intentions for each child during planned group activities, and at times do not recognise when differentiation is needed to meet individual development needs. These represent the primary drivers for investment recommendations.
