Windmill Nursery School

Windmill Nursery School received a Good rating across all four legacy framework areas (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management), which map to the seven November 2025 evaluation areas. The nursery demonstrates strong foundations in safeguarding, curriculum design, and staff knowledge of individual children. However, two specific areas require targeted investment: inconsistency among less confident staff in extending children's learning, and unequal quality of resources and experiences across pre-school rooms. The report notes that "on occasion, some less confident staff are not consistent in supporting children to help extend their learning" and that "there is a difference in quality between the resources and experiences for children in the different pre-school rooms." These findings map to Curriculum and Teaching (currently Expected Standard) and Achievement (currently Expected Standard) in the new framework. The nursery is well-positioned for improvement to Strong Standard with focused staff development and environmental enhancements.
