Shepherd’s Bush Newpark Montessori School & Nursery

Newpark Montessori Nursery School received an overall Good rating across all areas in its first inspection on 29 January 2025. The setting demonstrates strong safeguarding arrangements with an open, child-centred culture. Staff build excellent relationships with children, particularly supporting those with English as an additional language and identified SEND needs. The curriculum is sequentially progressive and well-tailored to individual children's needs through regular parent collaboration and key person observations. Physical development is well-supported through indoor and outdoor activities including specialist sports coaching. This report uses the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management), which has been mapped to the November 2025 7-area structure: Quality of Education maps to Curriculum and Teaching and Achievement; Behaviour & Attitudes maps to Behaviour, Attitudes and Establishing Routines; Personal Development maps to Inclusion and Children's Welfare and Well-being; Leadership & Management maps to Leadership and Governance. Two specific areas for improvement have been identified: older children in the pre-school room require more opportunities to develop independence skills (staff sometimes intervene and take over tasks), and resource maintenance needs strengthening (broken resources are not always addressed promptly).
