Kids Planet Hanford

Kids Planet Hanford received a Good rating across all four legacy framework areas (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management) in February 2023. This analysis maps those findings to the November 2025 seven-area framework. The nursery demonstrates strong safeguarding practices, effective behaviour management, good curriculum planning, and solid leadership. Two key improvement areas were identified: (1) inconsistent information sharing between key persons and cover staff regarding children's learning needs, which hinders progress during staff absences, and (2) insufficient guidance and support for less-experienced staff on extending activities to promote deeper learning. The setting serves 114 children aged 0-4 with 13 staff members, 11 of whom hold Level 2-5 early years qualifications. Strengths include high staff expectations, broad ambitious curriculum, strong SEND support, excellent communication and language focus, and positive parent partnerships.
