Kids Planet Shepherd Lodge received a Good rating across all areas in its first routine inspection since registration in 2022. The report was conducted under the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management), all graded Good. These findings have been mapped to the November 2025 7-area framework as follows: Quality of Education maps to Curriculum and Teaching (Good); Behaviour and Attitudes remains Behaviour, Attitudes and Establishing Routines (Good); Personal Development maps to Inclusion and Children's Welfare and Well-being (Good); Leadership and Management maps to Leadership and Governance (Good). Safeguarding arrangements are effective and meet requirements. The nursery demonstrates significant strengths in parent partnerships, outdoor learning, physical development through sports coaching, and staff well-being. The single area for improvement identified by the inspector concerns communication and language development, specifically allowing children more time to respond to questions and practise new vocabulary.
