Ashby Preschool Academy

Ashby Preschool Academy received a Good overall effectiveness rating in May 2024 using the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management). This report has been mapped to the November 2025 7-area framework as follows: Quality of Education maps to Curriculum and Teaching (Good, 75); Behaviour & Attitudes maps to Behaviour, Attitudes and Establishing Routines (Good, 75); Personal Development maps to Achievement (Outstanding, 92) and Behaviour, Attitudes and Establishing Routines (Good, 75); Leadership & Management maps to Leadership and Governance (Good, 75). Two explicit improvement priorities were identified: (1) developing further support for children's learning to help them make faster rates of progress, and (2) strengthening parent partnerships to share information about next learning steps. Safeguarding arrangements are effective and met. The setting demonstrates strong emotional support, well-developed curriculum sequencing, effective SEND inclusion, and excellent personal development outcomes. Key areas for development centre on maximising activity-based learning to build on prior knowledge and improving parent communication about learning intentions.
