Little Butterflies Day Nursery Ltd received a Good rating across all areas in its first routine inspection since opening in 2021. The report was conducted under the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management), which has been mapped to the November 2025 7-area structure. The nursery demonstrates strong safeguarding arrangements, good curriculum planning, and positive staff-child relationships. Children make good progress, including those with SEND, and the setting has effective links with schools and external agencies. Two specific areas for improvement were identified: (1) staff missing opportunities for children to develop problem-solving skills by offering solutions too quickly, and (2) inconsistent encouragement of self-care skills during transitions (coat/boot removal). These represent gaps in teaching approach and independence-building rather than systemic failures, positioning the nursery well for progression to Strong Standard with targeted interventions.
