MEplace Nursery

MEplace Nursery received a 'Good' overall effectiveness rating in October 2022 under the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management). This report has been mapped to the November 2025 7-area framework. The nursery demonstrates strong emotional well-being support, a nurturing home-from-home environment, and effective safeguarding arrangements. Staff form strong bonds with children and follow their interests through topic-based planning. Two key areas for improvement were identified: (1) allowing children more thinking time when responding to questions to support idea-sharing, and (2) building firmer links with external professionals (particularly speech and language services) to enable earlier intervention for children with SEND. The setting shows particular strengths in inclusion (celebrating diversity, Black History Month activities), behaviour management, and leadership commitment to staff development through supervision and 'growth days'. Mapping to the new framework: Quality of Education → Curriculum and Teaching (Good); Behaviour & Attitudes → Behaviour, Attitudes and Establishing Routines (Good); Personal Development → Inclusion and Children's Welfare and Well-being (Good); Leadership & Management → Leadership and Governance (Good). Safeguarding was explicitly noted as 'effective', mapping to 'Met' status.
