Les Chatons The French Nursery School

The French Nursery School received a Good rating across all areas in November 2022 under the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership & Management). This analysis maps those findings to the November 2025 7-area framework. The nursery demonstrates strong safeguarding practices, good curriculum planning with multilingual provision, and positive staff-child relationships. Children are happy, engaged, and making good progress. Two specific areas for improvement were identified: allowing children more thinking time during circle times to develop their communication and response skills, and embedding concrete mathematical understanding through additional number activities. The setting shows particular strengths in gross and fine motor development, independence building, and inclusive practice for children with EAL and SEND. Leadership demonstrates commitment to staff development and well-being.
