The Hive Day Nursery

The Hive Day Nursery maintains a Good overall effectiveness rating across all areas, with particular strengths in safeguarding, curriculum planning, behaviour support, and parent partnerships. The inspection used the legacy 4-area framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management), which has been mapped to the November 2025 7-area structure. All legacy areas graded as Good have been distributed across the new framework: Quality of Education maps to Curriculum and Teaching and Achievement; Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development map to Behaviour/Attitudes/Routines and Welfare/Well-being; Leadership and Management maps to Leadership and Governance. A single, specific area for improvement has been identified: staff occasionally intervene too quickly when giving instructions, not allowing children sufficient processing time to respond independently. This represents a minor refinement to existing good practice rather than a systemic weakness.
