The Southville Centre Nursery

The Southville Centre Nursery was inspected on 16 May 2024 under the legacy four-area OFSTED framework (Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management), with all areas graded as 'Good' and overall effectiveness rated 'Good'. This represents significant improvement from the previous inspection rating of 'Requires Improvement' (June 2023). For analysis under the November 2025 framework, the legacy grades have been mapped to the seven evaluation areas: Safeguarding is confirmed as 'Met'; Inclusion, Curriculum and Teaching, Achievement, Behaviour/Attitudes/Routines, and Welfare/Well-being are all mapped to 'Expected Standard' (70-75 range); Leadership and Governance is mapped to 'Expected Standard' (72). The nursery demonstrates strong foundations with committed leadership, effective SEND support through a dedicated SENCo team, positive parent partnerships, and respectful staff interactions. However, two specific areas require targeted improvement: group time organisation and parent engagement in home learning support.
